The Reiki Principles

One of the things that I am very grateful for is that during my training as a Reiki practitioner, I was taught the five Principles of Reiki. These are taught the first day of training and you are instructed to say them the first thing in the morning. These five statements are small but powerful and they encompass everything that you need to live a beautiful, balanced and fulfilling life.
As with all things handed down verbally, there are several variations of the Principles and none are more right than others. Your higher self will guide you to the phrasing that works best for you.
An example of the above is the phrase “Just for today I will not anger.” This is how I learned the phrase but I have also seen this written as “Just for today I will not be angry,” as well as “Just for today I will anger not.” You will gravitate to what personally speaks to you.
Here are the Reiki Principles:
Just for today, I will not anger
Just for today, I will not worry
Just for today, I will be grateful for my many blessing
Just for today, I will do my work honestly
Just for today, I will be kind to every living being
Over the next few days, I will share my thoughts on each of these Principles and what they mean to me. Till then, try saying the Reiki Principles when you wake each morning before you get out of bed. It will be an interesting experiment to see how they affect your day. And if you need a bit of boost during the day, they are there for you to remind you of what is really important.
Be well…
